Ushers

Ushers perform many services including seating patrons, distributing programs, and providing excellent customer service. The theater schedule varies but ushers should be prepared to make a weekly commitment for the entire season.

Ushers must purchase or provide their own uniforms and wear them to every shift. Every event at The Lyric that has an audience requires the services of our Front-of-House team to ensure the safety and comfort of every patron.

Ushers are an essential element of the team. The professionalism and positive attitude that patrons experience from our ushers will be the first and last moment of their experience.

Some ushers may be asked to perform more strenuous tasks required by the Head Usher (i.e. move tables, chairs and stanchions for receptions, program books, concessions, etc.).


Bartenders and Coffee Bar Servers

  • Being familiar with concessions items, prices, sales procedures and the ability to make various types of drinks
  • Having a sales and friendly personality as well as facility and comfort with figures and handling money (including settling registers)
  • Being aware of regulations and procedures in sales of alcoholic beverages (i.e. willingness to ask to see ID if necessary)
  • Being in place and ready to go during intermission
  • Stocking products before, during and after performances
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary station
  • Working quickly and efficiently during intermissions
